Geco - Marlin 15. april - 20. may 1998

Starting off with 5 days in dock getting to know each other.   Acquisition, Position and Processing depts were all new to the vessel.  The Maritime crew and the Handling dept. got less space and more people to handle.  Tidy and cleaning while deploying the streamer and shooting long lines lasting for over 24 hours, were the main tasks for this trip.  But we managed to get to know the dayroom and the VCR as well.    The Trilogists (proc) and trainee trilogy washing down streamer reel
The streamer deck is in the middle of the boat, different from multi streamer back-decks.  The Position dept. had some problems with their Nor* (no trinav RT), when this picture was taken they were running nor* on two other screens!   The Processing dept tested out their D-band filter and it proved to be working really well for filtering out seismic interference from other vessels working in the same area.  The Captains had a crew change in the middle of the trip and on the picture one of them is going off.  Our 3 AB' s.  Hard working since the Marlin had been in dock for a long time.

Had some helicopters during the trip, this one with a Norsat - C person and some missing spare-parts.  We had some fishing gear in the water as well. These buoys we saw on the scope passing down the streamer until they got stuck at the tailbuoy.   Action was taking when the sun came up.  The guns and the gunsystem was really working well, but still an array need to be taken on-board every now and then for maintenance.  Going from a boat that used to operate in Europe to an American boat was a change regarding eating-habits in between meals.  Cans of all sorts and chocolate and hamburgers wrapped in plastic were available at all times.  Good in a way BO 105 arriving wiht norsat C parts Fixing the norsat C
